This year, it was finally time for Level 22 to take the party to Amsterdam. After just over a year of building the Level 22 brand, the time had come for their first boat party. In collaboration with the Amsterdam-based fraternity, Selene, they set out to host a one-of-a-kind party on the water.
There was a lot of excitement leading up to this event, especially after the last two successful editions at locael Centraal in Haarlem. Level 22 was eager to host their inaugural event in Amsterdam. The party was set on an old sailing boat, featuring a fabulous upper deck where guests could enjoy the views and party, and a lower deck that provided refuge in case the weather worsened, allowing the celebration to continue.
Transportation to the event was straightforward. Many fans from the already established Level 22 base in Haarlem chose to travel by train, taking about 18 minutes, followed by a 10-minute tram ride to Bert Haanstrakade. Others opted for Uber or taxis, which usually takes about 25-30 minutes. However, unfortunately on the day of the event, major delays occurred due to roadside construction in Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, the weather on the day of the event was less than ideal. Although there was no rain, there was a lot of wind. Guests began to arrive at 16:45, and by 17:00, the boat was nearly full. We decided to wait an extra 15 minutes for the last few people to arrive, and at 17:15 sharp, we departed from the dock. Leaving the dock proved a bit tricky, but soon we were underway. Initially, we weren't sure what to expect as the strong wind made it quite uncomfortable on the upper deck.
After 15 minutes of sailing we passed the lighthouse, this was our sign to start the music! The second the music switched on the whole scene changed as everyone lit up and started dancing with the first DJ (DJ MXI) started off with a perfect set. Shortly after the music was switched on we ankerd onto the side of a small island where we were out of the wind. This allowed us to create perfect conditions to continue to party without the discomfort of the wind.
With Level 22 household names such as DJ MXI and Niels Stunnenberg hitting the decks that night, the event was in good hands. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves. Classic tracks filled the air, creating an engaging sing-along scene. This vibrant atmosphere was perfectly captured by their in-house photographer, as you can see in the images below.
The boat offered a variety of food and drink options, ranging from classics like beer and wine to more contemporary choices such as seltzers and cocktails. In addition, there was an assortment of snacks available, including buns and toasties, perfect for enjoying in between.
Overall if you're looking for a fun boat party in Amsterdam then we definitely recommend heading to one of level 22 future boat parties.
